Chicken Gumbo Soup Recipe

Chicken Gumbo Soup


Ingredients :


8 cups water
1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 carrots, sliced thin
1 (10 ounce) package frozen okra, thawed and sliced
4 ounces fresh mushrooms
1/4 cup uncooked wild rice
1 1/2 cups uncooked rotini pasta
1 skinless, boneless chicken breast half - cut into cubes
ground black pepper to taste
salt to taste
3 green onions, thinly sliced

 

Preparation :

Bring the water to a boil. Add garlic and hot pepper sauce.

Put the carrots and mushrooms into the pot. Cook for 5 minutes.

Add the wild rice, okra, and chicken cubes. Turn heat to low, and cook for 3 hours.

Add the pasta, and cook for 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Serve hot, garnish with the green onions.
