Fried Chicken Recipe
Oven Fried Chicken
Fried chicken is a classic dish from the American South. It travels well and is often taken on picnics and to outdoor entertainment venues.
The breading seals in juices and absorbs the fat it’s fried in. Fried chicken isn’t exactly a health food, but packs plenty of mouth-watering flavors.
Fried chicken recipes use a blend of spices to give the dish some zip. Many cooks have developed their own “secret recipe” for one-of-a-kind flavor.
Experiment with your own spice blend by trying garlic salt, onion powder, cayenne pepper, or something unexpected.
Ingredients:
2/3 c. Bisquick
1 1/2 tsp. paprika
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 (2 1/2-3 1/2 lb.) broiler-fryer chicken, cut up
Directions:
Mix the Bisquick baking mix, paprika, salt and pepper; then coat the chicken with the mixture.
Arrange chicken pieces, skin side up, in a large oven safe dish with thickest parts to outside edges.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink near bone.
